The Futures Industry Association today announced the election of board directors at its annual meeting in Boca Raton, Fla. Following the election, the new board elected the association's officers and public directors. All directors will serve two-year terms unless otherwise noted.

SEC Warns Investors Of Phony Web Site Targeting Madoff Fraud Victims

The Securities and Exchange Commission is alerting investors about a Web site that falsely claims to have recovered $1.3 billion in funds hidden by convicted Ponzi schemer Bernard Madoff in Malaysia. The site asks Madoff victims to submit information to verify that they are on a refund list a ploy commonly used by con artists to further rip off financial fraud victims.

Former Cazenove Partner Found Guilty Of Insider Dealing

Malcolm Calvert, a former equities marketmaker at stock broker Cazenove, was today found guilty at Southwark Crown Court on five counts of insider dealing. Calvert made approximately £103,883 profit from the trades that took place between June 2003 and October 2004.

Eurex, Europe's largest derivatives exchange, and the Korea Exchange (KRX), a leading Asian exchange, today announced the start date of their Eurex/KRX Link, a product cooperation to trade and clear KOSPI 200 Options. In-soo Kim, Executive Director of KRX, and Michael Peters, member of the Eurex Executive Board, stated today that both exchanges are jointly preparing to launch daily futures on KOSPI 200 Options at Eurex on 30 August 2010. For the first time, KOSPI 200 Options will be available worldwide after Korean trading hours.
